Heather Feiring Binder was born and raised in Rhode Island, USA. She presently resides in Providence, RI where she has lived with her husband and two cats for the past 13 years. 

Binder recently received Masters in Fine Arts in Ceramics from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania in 1991. She attended Carlow College for Art Education receiving her teaching license in 1992. Heather has been teaching at private organizations, outreach programs and public schools for 30 years.

Binder is a ceramic artist and dedicated arts educator who is fascinated by patterns and geometry found in places most people pass by without noticing. This careful looking along with a practice of meditation and yoga began at an early age living on the family horse farm.

Her work can be found in galleries, retail shops, restaurants and homes throughout the New England area, Maryland, London, England, Paris, France and Guatemala.
